Automatic Transmission 444-544 1965

I have a 1965 PV544 in very good condition. The transmission however needs and overhaul and the clutch should be replaced. I am considering swithching to an automatic transmission and would like to get some guidance on what it take t to do it correctly. For instance would a transmission from another volvo model (120) fit. Is there and adapter kit available? Are there any articles/literature describing how to do it.

I would appreciate any feedback and shared experiences on the subject before I start this project.
