with an excellent degree of reliability, put in a Ford 5.0 V8 and transmission. The Volvo rear end is strong enough. After all, Volvo (at least the car part) is now a division of Ford. Search the web for Converse Engineering -- they make conversion kits for later models and most of it will adapt to an 1800. Long before Converse, in the '60s or early '70s, one of these conversions was featured in Hot Rod magazine, even.
