Interesting. The wire isn't hooked up, but the dimmer functionality from teh dash still works. I guess its a separate circuit between the automated function and the dash managed dimmer function?

Any idea about the otehr set of wires? The have that white, plastic, bullet shaped (horizontally) female bracket on the end (to insure the male counterpart is hooked in properly). I figured it was for the Graphic Equalizer that my car doesn't have, but figured I'd ask while I'm at it.
