Pablo,
3.91? Jeez...that's STEEP! You must have a very strong right arm from all of that rowing. Curious, what RPM are you turning at 65mph in top gear? With a 3.31 I get 2400 on my factory tach, which may or may not be 100% accurate. I'm running turdbo rims and 195/series tires.
Paul Grimshaw recommends a 3.54 ratio with the stock 'M' cam on an n/a b21/23/230x motor. This would, if my calcs are correct, increase my cruising RPM by 200 at any given speed in top gear (i.e. 2600rpm @ 65mph). A 3.73 would step it up another 200 (2800 @ 65), and a 3.91 yet another 200rpm (3000 @ 65). At which point I would want a taller O/D ratio. :-)
The B230F, in stock form, does not crank out max torque until 2750rpm, so a 3.73 might actually be just right. Who knows...I suppose that I would have to change cams to make it work as intended no matter what I swap in there...
