RT: that's the great thing about this site: sometimes we got questions, other times we got answers; THANK YOU for imparting those pearls of wisdom! BTW, do you think that you'll wind up fabricating a replacement rod, made of stiffer/stronger metal? Sounds like the way to go, unfortunately. You would think that engineers could have predicted the windload on that part, wouldn't you? But HEY! At least you diagnosed it, and gave us all a 'way out.' Thanks again.--PD.
