How to fix (save) harness? 700 1987

I'm replacing the head and I took off the wiring harness.

It's on it's last days. The ground wires on the fuel rail crumpled into dust. They are bare copper now. There are some cuts and bruises on the rest of the harness. I have not taken off the rubber sleeves yet.

How's the best way to fix this, without buying a new harness. (the car ran fine with this harness). Should I just cut and resolder with new wire?

And where's a good source to get good quality wires? Local parts store have poor quality wires.
