first time i n the snow 120-130

Leeb;

...and what's wrong with a little "fun in the snow"?

Those newer models all had 70 or even 60/65 aspect ratio performance tires (snow shoes by comparison to the 78 series potato chip tires found on the oldies), so I do agree that from the factory, these models, compromised toward the performance side (including probably the FWDs), were not particlularilly known for their winter condition prowess (is that a surprise, with those tires?)...BUT...equip those vehicles with one series narrower winter rubber, like those fantastic Haakkapelittas M+Ss, all the way around, and (for instance) our 745T was damn near unstoppable in the winter.

I also remember an interesting run years ago, in convoy, with D+G Adams, they in their 240 (unknown tires), and me, in the beveredesteined Snow Weasel, for about 15 miles on an unplowed highway with snow up to just under the gunwales...we motored by everything in sight, including FWDs! ...maybe some credit goes to youthful exuberance (or recklessness), but the equipment sure performed admirably when called upon (and maybe thanks to it, we all survived!).

Ques que se, Boxhead?
