I can't dispute your points as to the interaction with new paint, but if that's your biggest beef, you better not admit to using Armour-All or similar (silicon emulsion) protectant products on your door/etc. seals and other exterior rubber, since that's a hellovalot closer to any future paintwork than your fluid reserviors!

The big benefit (I believe) George and I both advocate it for (and George may want to chime in here) is that since it doesn't absorb/hold mixture it's better in the long run because it does not cause/promote corrosion of brake components...and THAT, is very high up on MY list, which I won't restate here. If your neuroses are such that you religously change your hydraulic fluids every year, I guess I can't argue with that either...
