Quick note in addition to posts 900 1994

Thanks for the re-explanation. I think I'm suffering from paint fume inhalation or something, as I understand less things week by week.

I suppose that the car being on the ground at least partially wouldn't have a whole lot of effect on the torque of the nut, since it should be seated flush on the stub axle by that point. In my personal opinion (debunkers, note: "opinion") that would work well and would certainly reduce the risk of yanking the car off of a jack or stands by heaving on a 3' breaker bar.

Again thanks for the patience. Sometimes it takes me a while.
