temp gauge does not work 700 1987

Disconect and GROUND the yelloy temp sender wire with the key on. The guage should go to the red, full hot. If so, replace sender. If not, find the engine harness conection from the temp sender and check it there. If still no activity, bad wiring from firewall side of harness or the guage is toast, or a circuit board problem at the cluster.
