it can mean something, you should check the onboard diagnostics which are located under the hood.

easiest thing to do (if not familiar with OB diagnostics) is to reset the light by momentarily disconnecting battery negative terminal. if check engine lite goes out and stays out, it was just a spurious phenomenon and i would not worry about it.
