It isn't that bad to get out IF you don't break the bracket that holds it in.

If you break the bracket, you get to take the transmission out. That would qualify as PITA.

I'm not so sure that hesitation on acceleration would be the crank sensor, though. That seems like it might be a throttle body issue (position switch set wrong giving too much air initially). Or perhaps a fuel issue, but that doesn't sound that likely either. Usually it impacts it at RPM ranges rather than just on takeoff.

But, there are a lot of possibilities. You'll find the answer eventually.
