Please help diagnose overheating problem 200

replace the thermostat.

are you sure it is overheating or is the guage "telling" you it is overheating? meaning it may be the temp sensor or the temp compensating board. I would suspect comp board would not be suspect cuz it is not affected by speed. but, the cooling effect of air at high speeds could keep the coolant temp sensor cooler and then when you slow down, the wind factor is reduced and the temp sensor is warmer than it was on the freeway?? I would also check the connector on the temp sensor.
