And of course...don't forget about Whitworth... where the wrenches are measured by the length of one of the sides of the hex of the bolt which they fit... Such that a 7/16" Whitworth wrench is about the size of a standard 7/8" wrench. Don't you just love the British! There might even be Whitworth bolts on the early Volvo carbs with the brass dash pot bolts such as can be found on B16 cars...

What a score when I found a set of Whitworths at a garage sale for $2....especially having an old silly British car in the garage.
