the MOST BASIC things you need to make the thing turn on are:

a: Ground Wire

b: Always On Positive current (kinda thick) wire

c: turn on wire that gives current ONLY when car is on

I have installed stereos in all of my 240's... sometimes multiple times for each car as I upgraded the stereo. I can give you some good advice on what to do when installing them.
