122 Charging Issues 120-130 1967

The short ground strap from the battery to the sheet metal on the body is a poorly designed connection. The ground is then supposed to travel through the sheet metal, down the firewall to the braided strap that grounds the engine and also your alternator as it is attached and grounded to the engine. Personally I ground my battery directly to the body to engine strap.
IMHO the gen is a poor substitute for the alternator, thats why cars stopped using them about 30 years ago. Also the Bosch alt is not as reliable as the delco or as cheap or as easy to get parts for.
