Fuse #12 powers the b/u lights, window lift relay, Driver seat heater, A/C, and Fuel injection system B23F.

On a manual trans, the switch connections go bad. You by-passed the switch, I assume with a jumber at the connector in the LH side of the center console.

From there the wire goes direct to the b/u lights, left and then right.

On an autobox, the switch is part of the neutral/park switch.
