ECU Compatibility Question 700 1987

I have an 87 745T and I have managed to track my idle problems down to a damaged ECU (by 'borrowing' a ECU from a buddy who has a 89 745T) I think my ECU was damaged as a result of a really bad Wiring harness which I have since replaced with a new one.

So, I have located a used ECU from a fellow brickster and I am currently awaiting its arrival. I also want to get a 'spare' ECU to keep on hand.
Someone who is parting out a 1986 745T has a ECU with the part #:280 000 518 and my question is if this one might be compatible with mine. My ECU has a part # 280 000 541

I did not think that the 86 and 87 had any significant differences? My buddys 1989 has the ECU that ends in 541 also.

Thanks,
JJ
