Clunk redux 140-160 1973

OK, the old girl is back running again after some new plugs (gotta deal with that rich mixture) and the passing of the cold snap.

Now, on to the clunk.

It's like an elf hammering somewhere underneath there. It varies with the speed of the car, not the rpm of the engine. Turning has no effect on it.

I checked the wheels for easy spinning and bearing play and didn't find anything that would give rise to a dramatic clunk. Put it on ramps and twisted at the driveshaft u-joints. No apparent play.

Next step?
