Yes, your car is pinging - engines ping when under load, as in going up a slight incline or steep hill/heavy acceleration. Usually it can be corrected by 1. a good tune up with the timing correctly set and 2. higher octane gas 89/91 rating. I have seen posts here of owners whose cars still ping slightly even when freshly tuned and 91 octane gas.....must be fairly normal..check the recent archives on this. BTW, it doesn't hurt the car, mainly just an annoyance...
