Sorry I believed the etimate you got, but that sounds like a quote from a body shop planning to bill an insurance company. Body shops charge obcene amounts of money when it is an insurance claim. I was just pointing out that you could get equal or better quality work done for way less if you shop around. Things are probably a little cheaper in Canada. I was estimating based on personal experience, because I just replaced two doors (because of rust) on my 84. I payed 40 bucks for the back one and 70 for the front one (the front still had its hinges, glass etc). You can find very competant independant body shops that do excellent work for very cheap. I have found that some of the worst work comes from well known bodyshops around here. Or you can go to Autozone or whatever an have them mix you up a can of spray paint in your color for 30 bucks. Thats what I did. But we have had quotes for the wifes civic, which she seems to bang up monthly. The Honda dealer quoted us 300 to paint a new bumper, and they are one fo the more expensive shops around here (they do nice work too). So I am just saying you could pay 1000 bucks or a lot less if you look around.
