If you're really careful, you can replace the front seal without taking anything else apart. All the other seals require complete disassembly, short of breaking down the mainshaft after it comes out, which it will.

How To

Redline MTL is fine. Modern 80/90 gear oil is fine in the J-type OD (the manual and popular mythology notwithstanding). Do NOT use ATF -- only the later JP-type ODs are valved for it.
