So I bought a car with broken heat... Let's make the best of it.

Sounds like the better plan. My radiator popped a crack down the side. It's running with a clamp on the radiator, emergency hose tape, and a massive infusion of "Stop Leak".

I noticed my temprature needle at over 100%, then got to a stop light, where a thick white fog rolled out of the hood. I got her to the nearest gas station, popped the hood, and was releived it was only coolant steaming. I walked in and the gentleman at the counter started the conversation with "No, we do not sell radiator hoses, hose tape, hose clamps, or stop leak.". We towed it home, nursed it to reasonable health.

I'll be inserting a replacement radiator ASAP.
