I'd say he has got his hands on a 262, notice how he mentions the vinyl top that has been restored at one point? To solve this issue, John, have a look at these:

262 looks like this:

The 262 was made between 1977 and 1981, would have had a vinyl roof and the PRV V6 which is not very popular in the States but the 262 is a rare car so might up the value a bit.

The 780 was made between 1986-1991 but did not have a vinyl roof. Again, the V6 not so popular, the petrol turbo very popular and the turbo diesel was not even imported to the States, neither was the 16v turbo engine with 210 bhp.

That is what I can tell you. Find out precisely what car this is and what engine it has.
