On my first rear TAB job I managed to deform the bushing by not getting the pusher part of the tool on perfectly square. I took a flat ended punch (heavy) and hammered the bent part of the bushing back in. Eventually I got the bushing to move in. Really hard to move it though. The next time I was more careful to get to tool on right and the bushing went right in, no problem.
