I think an M47 will cause you problems with splines since the
motor side of things will have the fewer spline setup for the
older style transmission but the transmission probably has the
more spline setup.

I think a toyota celica gearbox or an M46 is probably a better
way to go just because the M47 doesn't seem to have a great
reputation.

You'll want to look at the different clutch kits for the
early and late style 240s and see if there is any way to adapt
the B20 to the later version.
