something I have run across is a product called peel and seal. It's used to cover the top of mobile homes and various other such things. It works nearly as well as dynamat and is a hell of a lot cheaper. At that cost you can double and even triple which never hurts anyway. When you are doing more than one layer just run the next 90º to the one below it. A heat gun and a rubber roller are always quite helpful while installing it.
