what your seeing is the upshift arrow. on manual trans cars they use that arrow to indidicate when to upshift. it is triggered by rpm and should go out when you change into the next gear. if it is malfunctioning, disconnect the battery and then when you reconnect the battery start the car and drive through all the gears leaving the light on for about 5 seconds and then upshift and do this through all the gears, and it will reprogram itself.
