You mentioned replacing relays, Did you replace the Fuel Pump relay? That would be suspect for you intermittent cut out. The 25 Amp fuse under the hood would be worth looking at and cleaning.

Foolish to attempt....Never. It's the naive car owners that help the car manufacturers make stupid design decisions.

Maybe someone else will chime in here but isn't '86 one of the last years for the bad wiring harness??
