driveshaft work 700 1987

My front driveshaft is 1.75" in diameter near the front U joint, I don't know what it is under the support bearing because I would have to remove it to measure - I assume the measurement I made is the one required to buy the correct parts. I also measure from the support to the middle U- joint - 8" -another measurement that supposedly defines which bearing and support to buy. But, I recently discovered that my transmission is not the original that came with the car - it is an 87 745 GLE and has an AW70L. So, I ordered parts and got a centre support that looks like that which would fit an early 80s 240 - a rubber donut within a donut that probably accepts springs (not included) that looks like it press fits into the driveshaft hump in the the floor. Since I ordered these a few months ago, I don't expect to be able to return them. Their catalog lists these supports as fitting '87s but not '90s - what could be the difference?
