I'm only at 102K miles and I think it has finally broken in as the oil consumption typical of new engines has stopped! When I got it at 58K, I immeadiately started using Mobil 1 and for a few years it used a quart every 1K miles or so. It now goes about 3K to the quart.
I've seen a few people here with cars in the 180K mile region. I've never seen anyone describe a worn out engine. Usually the problems are caused by defects in auxillary systems that causes overheating or the like. Sticking valves seem to be an issue with some cars.
I'm assuming mine will see 200K+!

'96 965 with 16' wheels at 102K. Had '85 745 Turbo Diesel for 200K.
