B20 Cam identification help needed 120-130

The C in a typical B20 pulls well from 2000 and starts to fall off at 5800.

The D cam (standard D-jet fuel injection cam) shifts that up about 500 rpm, and makes more power than the C from 3500 on up.

The K cam (standard K-jet fuel injection cam) makes a tad less peak power and is a bit stronger than the D at 3000.

The iPd Street performance (VV71) is just a touch peakier than the D, with less low end yet, but not so you'd really miss it.

The iPd Street Torque (VV61) is a very mild cam that won't rev much above 4500, but it does have a very strong bottom range.

Disclaimer: All the above is completely over-generalized, but it's the best side-by-side I've got. There are a great many variables that will affect the actual rev ranges (which head, what carbs, what exhaust, etc.).

Now consider two other things: 1) Those are all 30+ year old designs, and modern cams from Unitek or KGTrimning will get you more power over a broader rpm range, and with less waer throughout the valve train. They do cost more and it can take a while to get them over here. 2) Horsepower has nothing to do with acceleration (zero, zippo...). All else being equal, the car with the highest, longest torque curve wins the race -- it's the area under the curve that counts.

Hope I haven't shed more darkenss than light here...
