How About getting the engine quiter?? 200

If your car is 88-90 with the B230 engine, it might be piston slap. Somewhere after 100K miles, the skirt clearance on the pistons gets to the point where they sound very much like a diesel. Short of a rebuild, you can't do much. The noise is greatly reduced when the engine is fully warmed up. BTW it doesn't affect performance or longevity.
