No spark 700 1989

Nathan,

One thing you can try )which doesn't require a meter) is removing the Noise Supression Capacitor from the coil. If it hasn't already been removed from your car, it will be a black plastic box mounted on the coil mounting bracket with one wire connected to the low voltage side of the coil. Disconnect the push-on from the coil and see if you get spark. If so, my local Volvo Dealership mechanic recommends permanently removing the capacitor. It's only function is reducing RFI(radio frequency interference) on your radio's AM band.
