No spark 700 1989

The ignition circuit, as you may know, is a series of components which "feed" each other, starting with the hall or RPM sensor (an 89 GLE will be an rpm sensor)which is an electronic switch, then the ECU which provides electronic timing etc, then the "power stage", which provides a low impedance drive to the coil, then the coil.

You can work through this chain and find the fault - the FAQ is excellent for this.

A quick check is to crank the engine and watch the tach - it should flicker. If not, chances are the rpm sensor or its wiring is dead. Good luck and be methodical. It's easy to start poking around in random order and get nowhere but frustrated.
