Rectangular halogen sealed-beam headlights for cars like your 87 740 cost only $7.99 or so at ANY auto parts store.
Replacement is simple- you remove the black "tweezer" clip at the top of the chrome frame, and pull the frame off.
Unplug the light from the back, then remove the 4 phillips head screws holding the aluminum trim on around the light. The old lamp falls right out and you put the new one in, being careful to align it correctly in the bracket.
A little grease is recommended on the plug to keep moisture out of the bulb socket.
Your car takes a different lamp for the inner (high beam only) and outer (high/low dual filament bulb).
Unlike newer model cars, you just throw the whole lamp away.
