If you are familiar with working sheet metal and welding it, it is not
too hard. If you have holes and the outer edges are still good it might
be easier to weld in patches. Be sure the metal you use is thick enough.
I used 16 gauge but 18 or 20 might be OK. Don't go any lighter than that.
If you have started wearing bifocals since you last did a lot of welding,
you are in for a steep learning curve and probably a LOT of sore muscles.
