Yes, it will fit. In fact, you could even use your present shifter and remove the start interrupt/reverse lights switch from the right side of your B55 and put it on the AW70/71. It bolts right on. You would then have to install an o/d switch if you ever wanted to disengage the o/d manually, which I rarely do on my 84 245..

I like the AW70 transmission so much that I'm replacing the bw35 in my 1800ES with one.
