I'm not exactly sure what you're asking when you say you'd 'really like a write up...' Are you asking how they're usually attached, or how it can be attached without having any visible seams, or something else?

Typical installation: drill holes through the air dam and the lowermost edge of the front section and fenders, and secure the dam with screws and washers. This allows for easy removal when necessary. The dams are pretty low and easy to snag on curbs and driveways, so removal in order to make repairs is pretty handy. You could use rivets, but removing them is more difficult than taking out a bunch of screws.

Slick installation: Tim Trantham's beYOUteeful 122 uses Dzus fasteners. Removeable, reusable, clean looking. If you're not familiar with Dzus fasteners, plug it into a google search, or check Jeg's or Summit Racing. This is the route I'd go if I were going to install an air dam.

Permanent, seamless installation: use a wicked strong epoxy and glue the thing onto the car, then hide the seam with resin or bondo, sand smooth, and paint. This method will give a nice finished look as long as the sticky stuff stays sticky. Removal will be nearly impossible without damaging something, and repairs will be much more difficult.
