You are correct sir!
The 242GT has flat trunk wells (though I have been told the 80 GT did have regular wells) and takes a special inflatable "space saver" spare tire that is not full diameter until it's inflated using the special pressurized can of inflator gas. How strange for Volvo to give you a pressurized can in your trunk. Ah well...
