The estimate that you give. Is that at a shop - or parts and all for doing it at home? Reason I ask is my main mechanic said $1000.00 (reason I am doing it myself)- of course that would involve a complete rebuild of the head - new seals, dampers, cleaning, milling ...yada, yada.

I have the head off of the 745T and will take it Monday to the machinist. It seems to be in really good shape other than the gasket was leaking - SO - how much would you have done to it before it goes back on.
