OK, I'm getting frustrated. My 1986 760T will NOT go into overdrive. It started as an intermittent problem where the car had to warm up for 10+ minutes before it would go into overdrive. All the other transmission functions work perfectly.
I replaced the relay and the solenoid on the outside of the transmission, even though both tested OK. As expected, this fixed nothing. I then replaced all the wiring from the relay down through the floor and to the solenoid. I am absolutely 100% certain that the solenoid is receiving +12 volts.
The transmission fluid is also at the proper level and clean.
Does anyone have any insight as to what the problem might be? I certainly hope it doesn't require transmission renewal.
Thanks in advance.
