1987 240DL short/ground issue?

Wow! That's a lot to take in at one time! Well, the light in the glove box never worked after the door came off. Coinsidently, the light had actually stopped working a few weeks before my door finally broke off. Oh, and I have an 86 and not an 87...that is my fat fingers typing wrong. OOOPS! My headlights don't turn on if the key is in the off position, only when it's running. The #8 fuse is the one that blew (I think) if I looked in my manual right. All the rest of my electrical runs fine. It's just the dash light and the rear driving lights. I just happened to have noticed that right before my fuse blew that the glove box light started to faintly glow a little then it went out again. It's just bugging me because everything else electric works great...down to the heated seats! I will definately get that wiring diagram though. Looks like I have a nice weekend project ahead of me! Thanks for your help Bob! If you think of anything else, please post back!

Thanks!

Autumn :-)
