This is my version of Don Foster's relay advice - check and refresh all grounds - it costs zero dollars and you're going to have to do it some day anyway. Of course if it's like my 87 you'll have to actually replace a couple of wires - alternator ground and the big ground underneath between the engine and the battery. These are easy DIY repairs and they don't take long to perform.
