The wife of a good friend of mine regularly calls to keep in touch. She is very family oriented and doesn't quite understand why I would value an old car as much as I do. Her calls typically go: "How are you today? Heard from the kids lately? How's your Mom? How's the precious?...."

My wife picked up on that, naturally, and that's that.

That would make me Golum (as in The Lord of the Ring's slave to 'My Precious'), I suppose.

Being a nuclear engineer driving a 16 valve Double OverHead cam, I think DOH! (shades of Homer Simpson) is more fitting. Yet another reason why engineers have flat foreheads.
