Agree about the 164 :-) ! 140-160 1975

I agree. I just bought a '75 164 with sunroof (and power windows and heated seats) -- I'm looking in to a lot of aspects of restoration, though (e.g., modern 240 seats, as the original upholstery is shot).
[Thirty years ago, I bought a brand new '73 164 -- had it for only five years, though, because it had a lot of little annoyances -- but now, nostalgia compelled me to buy another (return to the "glory" days? :-), and the straight six ("the way engines should be" -- with apologies to the state of Maine).]

But more to the point, one of the things I want is to have the best brakes possible -- so I've been keeping a watchful eye on remarks concerning upgrading brakes and rotors. From what I've heard so far, however, is that while the rears are essentially early 240 components, these '75's fronts are "orphans" -- compatible with neither 240s, nor with earlier 164s. Is that what you understand?
