If you're talking about the upper thin side moldings, they just pop off, but you have to be careful. I don't use any tools to do it: a screwdriver can cut the rubber. I carefully work at one end with my fingers till I get it to lift up, then start sliding my fingers farther under it. The clips pop off as you go. If you don't go too quickly, and don't actually try to pull the molding off, it should come off with no damage.
Those pieces are held in place with push-clips, not "barbed screws". If you're careful, and a little bit lucky, you won't break any. Replacements are available from the aftermarket.
