Bob told you how to remove the armrest, without having to remove the door panel. Follow his instructions...they are good.
Once the armrest is in your hands, off the door....take a good look at the slot on the door that you just removed the armrest from. It may need to be realigned (bent back). Replace the armrest, rotate it back into position, and try to pull it away from the door. If you succeed, you may have to bend the tabs of the slot (on the door),so they are even. through time one tab has a way of becoming a bit higher, thus, you close your door one day and have an armrest in your hand.
It's a rather simple fix......I must have done them, at least once, on every brick I've owned (a dozen, plus).
