From what I remember if the OD Light works with the shifter buttin but no OD/5TH check the wiring that supplies the 12V to the solenoid as well as the wire that grounds the solenoid to ground (the trans). If the light never comes on it is either the OD Relay or the 4TH gear switch not providing the ground for the relay thus the light never comes on but in your case it is the solenoid that is not working. Check wires and replace if needed. Good Luck!
