Comment on your post and on IPD 200

Frankly, Smitty, I take some umbrage at your suggestion that I was "rushing to flame" IPD here. I don't think a considered analysis of my actions/posting would support that characterization.

I thought a fair bit before posting as I did, since I realized that it might come off somewhat unfair to IPD, and I have no wish to unfairly characterize someone's business that they have worked very hard to build.

I posted here (before contacting IPD) for two reasons. 1) I wanted to get a sense from the board over whether or not this was something that cropped up elsewhere and whether it was something to be concerned with *in order to* decide whether or not to follow up with IPD. I didn't want to bother them with a nit-picky complaint. 2) To be honest, I have not always been really satisfied with the level of expertise I have encountered when dealing with IPD over the phone. There have been several times when I have asked a parts-related question that required a fair but not unreasonable level of 240 knowledge, and the person on the other end not only did not know but did not seem to place much priority on finding out. So the other reason I posted to the board first was because my experience strongly suggested I would get a better answer here. If I had felt that I would get an answer as good as the one that Chris Delano posted here, I would have preferred to approach IPD first.

That said, I do regret placing such a negative title on my post--I should have said something like "IPD Sways--Quality of Fit and Finish?"

AND LET ME FURTHER NOTE: I also concur that IPD does a fantastic job of standing beside their products--I have never ended an IPD transaction unsatisfied, so in the end I'd like to tender a vote/note of appreciation to them, especially for their practice of offering speciality merchandise that we couldn't get elsewhere.
Smitty I think that's something that you and I both do agree on.
